Looking for the sleekest shades around? Nspired gets an insider’s peek of the latest eyewear trends from Rizwana Optometrists.  I asked Rizwana to share her favourite sunglasses trends with us. These were her picks:

  • The comeback shade, the Aviator
  • The Coloured sunglasses,
  • The retro influences of the  Cat Eye and the
  • The Classic, where glamour still rules

You won’t be able to say no to these irresistible shapes!

THE AVIATOR

You know you have that cool-girl vibe when Top Gun steps aside and you sport a newfound toughness in the updated Aviators. They sleek!

THE COLOURED SHADE

We are talking bright summer shades where colour flourishes. Get a load of the coloured reflectors! This screams “Its holidays!”

THE CAT EYE

Get retro with some catty frames. The diva in you will enjoy the fun that goes with sporting cat eyes!  Be adventurous!

THE CLASSIC

This always delivers the touches of glamour. Be it oversized classics with gradient lenses or luxurious leather details or even tortoise shell frames, you know you will always look feminine and chic!

All sunglasses are from Rizwana Optometrists, owner Rizwana has been running her practice for the past 6 years with absolute style (she is indeed the most stylish optometrist I know) and is equipped with the latest technology in eye care. She also carries a wide range of brands in frames and sunglasses. You can email her on info@rizwanaoptometrist or like her on Facebook.

Some tips from Rizwana on which sunglasses are best suited for your face shape:

ROUND FACE (full cheeks) Square or geometric frames to balance the roundness and create the illusion of sharper facial features.

SQUARE FACE (defined jawline, strong cheek bones)  Round or oval frames to soften those lines.  Aviators will look good on you too.

OBLONG FACE (narrow, long nose, tall forehead)  Think funky cat eyes!

HEART SHAPED FACES (broad forehead, high cheekbones, narrow chin)  Wire, thin frames such as rimless or even an aviator. Try huge Jackie O’s, these could work as well.

Pop Rizwana an email and she will gladly help you choose the best look for you!

So which sunglasses are you infatuating over?

P.S. A huge thank you to Abdullah A. for allowing us to use his hot wheels and to Aunty Femz for the use of her gorgeous home for the photoshoot. We had a blast!
