Today Shakerah, shares a recipe I was introduced to at one of her previous culinary courses.

For those who don’t know Shakerah offers these wonderful fully themed culinary classes. I am a huge fan and attended a few of them. She selects a theme; some of my favourites being the Mediterranean and the “Spur” menus, than she has a hands on class demonstrating delicacies from starters, through various main courses right to desserts, all within the theme. After all that cooking, we sit down on a beautifully laid table, once again within the theme, and enjoy the delectable food we just cooked!

It all about good food, marvellous décor, great company and fun laughs!

She took a bit of a maternity break and she is now back offering great inspirations. Her next class is happening on the 4th of September. The theme is Iranian Royalty! You don’t want to miss it. Seats are limited, if you interested to bring out the culinary goddess in you and to impress your guests pop an email her way at tiklym@absamail.co.za or call her on 0834517863

My seat is booked! Can’t wait!

Today Shakira guest blogs for Nspired, sharing her Loudly Lemon Recipe

So ………………So……………….Fresh!

Nothing adds flavour and tang to a dish than Lemon! Subhanallah! A gift from our Almighty!

Be it lemon squeezed into Haleem , or into a bite of Samoosa or a MUST over lamb, Lemons are always plentiful in my home.   A burst of freshness, always!  Try out this Savvy Side, be it a savoury or starter:

Loudly Lemon

8 Lemons

4 chicken breasts (cut in fine strips)

8 green chillies (cut in half lengthwise-deseeded)

1 small onion

Salt

Garlic

Sesame seeds

Mint

Dhania

4 tbsp Fresh cream

2 tsp Maizena

Cut a little off the bottom of lemon so that it can stand. Cut a little more of the top. Scoop out the flesh.

Marinate chicken in the lemon juice and spices. Fry onion and chillies. Add chicken. Mix fresh cream and maizena.  Add. Spoon into lemons. Garnish with Mint.

Also try:

Adding Danish Feta and/or some spinach to the mixture

Serve with a thin Paratha or even fill in wrap.

Cook dry in Authentic Indian Style omitting the Fresh Cream and Maizena, then serve with a Lemon Butter Sauce

Hope you enjoy
