Was it just the winter or was it all the extra namaazes in Ramadaan (wink, stubborn me insisted on reading on the tiles, in front of the fireplace)….. My knees have become so ugly and unpleasant this past month! Dark and atrocious!

I think if you have a naturally darker skin tone it just makes it worse!

This week called for some serious pampering!

I started with a daily homemade scrub followed by a good rub, of again a homemade oil mixture. I am really seeing the difference and just loving the results.

Scrub to lighten the knees.

Ingredients

  • Bicarbonate of Soda
  • Lemon Juice

Add enough bicarbonate of soda to about ½ a squeezed lemon to make a loose paste. Rub onto your knees and leave for about 10 minutes. Wipe off with a hot towel soaked in hot water. Try to add this to your daily routine…..you will be blessed with light knees. Lol.

You could also use this scrub to lighten your elbows as well as underarms.

 

Rub to soften the knees.

Ingredients

  • 100% pure coconut oil
  • Lemon juice

Make a mixture of the coconut oil with a dash of the lemon juice.  I must say it smells divine! Rub into the knees and leave on for about 15 minutes. Wipe off with a hot towel soaked in hot water. You will be left with soft smooth knees!
