The arrival of Eid signifies to many the beginning of a time of mixed emotions…. one side, sadness, because of the exit of such a great month and on the other side, happiness, joy and merriment. Yay! its Eid!
Remember how we as kids prepared for Eid Day with such anxiousness and uncontrollable joy! The henna, the hair, the Eid outfit, the shoes, the new PJ’s, even the new underwear! Nostalgia, nostalgia, nostalgia!
Definitely Eid is a tradition of festivity. So let us create a festive ambiance. But remember that part of making this Eid day special is not about “going over the top”. Focus on keeping everything “easy and comfy” Invoke a sense of “love and togetherness”
Here are some Hot Tips to make this a memorable day
Tip 1
Prepare in advance – Remove all those obstacles that lead to stress and frustration by preparing in advance.
Tip 2
You decide and set the tone – Keep it simple than regardless of simplicity “everybody came” and that is what’s important!
Tip 3
The Eid Ambiance – Create that ambiance that reflects your pleasure and happiness to all those visiting your home. Keep it cosy without being coy and make sure everything is deeply, deeply comfortable!
Your ambiance can be created by:
- Colour: A splash of rich and vibrant hues like gold, plums or orange can create a sense of warmth and happiness.
- Flowers: Use flowers to add a touch of elegance. (use flowers in season, its much more economical)
- Fragrances: This for sure comes from the tantalizing aromas streaming out of the kitchen
- Table Setting: Use colours or even a theme to elevate a style that will turn any meal into an event!
Ultimately make your sparkling home a welcoming place for all; for sure you will be having friends and family pouring in with love…. ”That’s the plan!”
Hope you have a wonderful day and always remember those less fortunate.
Eid Mubarak to all!
More About Umme Fayaaz
She is more than a friend, she is my confidant, she is there to share in my happiness and she is my shoulder to cry on, she is also my buddy for some serious food indulgence. Oh, and she has a handbag collection to die for!
Modest as always, she wishes to remain anonymous, so we shall call her Umme Fayaaz. She is the only person I know who renovates her house almost every 6 months, we talking serious renovations, with walls being broken too! Her eye for picking up the best décor buys is incredible! I love it when she visits me; my home gets a mini makeover with just a few clever tweaks. I am the one saying “So why didn’t I think of that!”
